FIBA Congratulates NBBF Newly Elected Board

World basketball governing body, FIBA has congratulated the Musa Kida-led Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) newly elected Board.

The congratulatory message is contained in a letter titled: NBBF 2022 Elective Congress (Benin City, Nigeria), jointly signed by the FIBA President, Hamane Niang and its Secretary, Andreas Zagklis and dated March 7, 2022.

The letter reads; “FIBA acknowledges the receipt of the results of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) Elective Congress held in Benin City on January 31, 2022. Accordingly, FIBA takes note of the election of the following persons to the NBBF Board for Four years.

“President: Musa Kida, Vice-president: Babs Ogunade, Representative North Central Zone: Deshi Adamu, Representative North East Zone: Abba Kaka, Representative North West Zone: Yusuf Surajo, Representative South-East Zone: Ugo Udezue, Representative South South Zone: Musa Kida, Representative South West Zone: Olumide Oyedeji.

“FIBA takes the opportunity to request your confirmation to the remaining members of the NBBF Board as per Article 21.2 (d) to (I) of the NBBF Constitution. FIBA congratulates all the elected members and looks forward to the close collaboration in furtherance of the development of basketball in Nigeria.”

 

However, the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development are yet to congratulate the Musa Kida led board following parallel NBBF elections that took place in Abuja on same day.
