FIBA World Cup Qualifiers: Nigeria strategises how to beat China, France, and Mali

Nigeria’s D’tigress will kick start their FIBA Women’s World Cup qualifiers against China in Belgrade.

The African Champions arrived Serbia on Wednesday ahead of the tournament and the team practiced later in the evening.

The D’tigrees will compete in Group B along side China, France and fellow Africans Mali and top three teams from the Group will advance to the World Cup .

Four groups will take place simultaneously in Japan, Serbia and the United States with Australia, the World Cup hosts, and the US, the women’s Tokyo 2020 Olympic champions, handed guaranteed passages to the tournament.

The top three of each group will go through to the 12-team World Cup in Sydney, due to be held in September and October

Each of the nations competing have qualified for the qualifying tournaments through their continental competition.

The FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2022 is scheduled to be held from September 22 to October 1.

Here are the fixtures :

Day 1 ( 10th February 2022)

Group A: Australia vs Brazil (12pm Nigeria time)

Group B: China vs Nigeria (3pm Nigeria Time)

Group B: France vs Mali (6pm Nigeria time)

Group A: Korea vs Serbia ( 9pm Nigeria Time)
