FIFA U-20: Fortify Flying Eagles before World Cup, Lawal urges Bosso

Ex-international, Garba Lawal, has urged 2023 AFCON Under-20 bronze-winning Flying Eagles coach, Ladan Bosso to fortify his team ahead of the World Cup proper billed for Indonesia between May 20 and June 11, this year.

Lawal said fresh legs will definitely improve the team and make it better towards a glorious outing at the global stage.

“Bosso needs to send away some players and beef it up with quality and utility players to boost their weaknesses and raise the standard of the team against the best in the world,” Lawal said.

Sports Minister, Sunday Dare, had also urged the coach to prepare a formidable side capable of winning the World Cup in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Bosso is still basking in the euphoria of the team third-place 4-0 victory over Tunisia at the AFCON Under-20 event.

The Flying Eagles recovered from their semi-final disappointment against Gambia to beat the Young Carthage Eagles at the Cairo International Stadium.

Goals from Ibrahim Muhammad and Ahmed Abdullahi were followed by a brace from Man of the Match Jude Sunday.

Bosso, who was disappointed with his sides finishing against the Young Scorpions, said the difference in the two matches was the finishing.
