FIFA World Cup 2022: Qatar welcomes competitors, fans with colourful open ceremony

Mega event of Soccer, FIFA World Cup 2022 began with colourful ceremony in Al Khor city Qatar on Sunday

The World Cup matches will be played in eight cities of Qatar.

A total of 32 teams, including host Qatar, have qualified for the tournament, which will be the first time football’s biggest event takes place in Middle East.

In all, sixty-four matches will be played in the World Cup and Final match will be played on 18th of next month.

Qatar has spent over two hundred and twenty nine billion dollars on building largest infrastructure for holding of World Cup event.

There is tight security around the stadium perimeter as fans continue to arrive.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, on behalf government and people of Pakistan, has extended best wishes to the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani and brotherly people of the country for hosting the football World Cup.

In a tweet on Sunday, he said world will experience the best of Qatar’s history, culture and hospitality.
