Flying Eagles pip South Sudan at African Games

Nigeria ‘s Flying Eagles got its African Games campaign back on track after claiming a 1-0 victory against South Sudan 1-0 in their second Group B encounter.

Nigeria went into the game on the back of a disappointing 2-1 loss to Ugandan in their opening match. However, the Flying Eagles redeemed themselves with a slim but important victory against South Sudan.

Sadiq Isiyiaka, who scored Nigeria’s only goal against Uganda, converted from the spot in the second half to give the Flying Eagles the 1-0 win.

The Ladan Bosso’s side will now shift attention to its final game against Senegal on Friday to secure qualification for the semi-finals of the men’s football event.

Senegal lost 1-0 to Ugandan in their second group B fixture also on Monday.
