Former C/league winner McManaman tips Celtic for upset

Former Real Madrid midfielder Steve McManaman thinks Celtic can upset the odds and get a result against the current holders.

The Englishman was speaking ahead of the Hoops’ opening group stage game against Los Blancos and is of the opinion the Parkhead side may be able to take something from the game.

Ange Postecoglou’s men come into the glamour tie in sparkling form, having won their first seven domestic games in a row and scored 17 goals in their last three games alone.

And now the 50-year-old, who won the Champions League twice while playing in Spain, thinks the Bhoys could land a blow on the European giants.

Speaking to the Scottish Daily Mail, McManaman said: “I wouldn’t think it would be much of a shock. I think Celtic could easily get something out of the game.

“Real Madrid sometimes start this type of competition slowly.
