Sportinglife.ng had last week reported that the former Kano Pillars manager has agreed personal terms to join the club.

Ganaru arrived in Borno on Sunday evening and he was welcome to the club by the officials.

It is understood that the former Wikki Tourists manager will formally sign the deal on Tuesday to make him become the new club’s manager. Ganaru will replace Imama Amapakabo.

“I can confirm to you that Baba Ganaru is now in Maiduguri. He came here on Sunday and hopefully the deal will be signed on Tuesday,” a source told Sportinglife.ng.

He added: “Ganaru is an experienced coach and a kind of coach El Kanemi Warriors need at this moment. He knows the terrain and the club will enjoy his services.”

Ganaru’s one year contract with Yobe Desert Stars ended at the end of the 2017/2018 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season and he parted ways with the Damaturu-based outfit on mutual consent.

Ganaru guided Kano Pillars to a back-to-back league titles in 2011/ 2012 and 2012/2013 seasons when he was in charge of the club as technical adviser.

He has coached Nasarawa United and Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi.
