Gerrard desperate to keep  Juventus target Kamara

Rangers boss, Steven Gerrard, is determined not to lose Glen Kamara.

The Finnish international was outstanding again as Gers sealed top spot in Group D with a stunning 2-0 win over Lech Poznan.

Kamara – under contract until 2023 – has been linked with Leeds United, Everton and Juventus, says the Scottish Sun.

But Gerrard is desperate to keep him at Ibrox – first calling on the board to act back in October.

Talks haven’t advanced since then and with the January transfer window set to open, Gerrard wants his best players nailed down.

The Ibrox boss said: “I thought Glen Kamara again showed why everybody is talking about him and there’s a lot of fuss about him.

“I thought he was outstanding from start to finish and my advice to the club is to move that situation along as quickly as they can.

“I think it is a huge achievement and it is thoroughly deserved. Our performances over the six games, we deserve to be in the number one position and with a bit more experience we could have won the six games.

“I am immensely proud of the players over the campaign and I thought tonight’s performance, we played with maturity, we were really strong and played with control and we fully deserved the three points.”
