Haaland and de Jong lock horns over Solskjaer mansion

Erling Haaland and Frenkie de Jong could be Manchester rivals next season  but they’re reportedly battling it out off the pitch already over a place to stay.

City’s star signing Haaland is looking for a new home following his £51million move from Borussia Dortmund, while United have been deep in negotiations with Barcelona for midfielder De Jong in recent weeks.

According to The Mirror, both men have locked eyes on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s £3.5m eco-mansion. With a deal for De Jong yet to be agreed at Old Trafford, it is Haaland who is said to be winning the fight.

Haaland has got the jump on De Jong with his representatives, including dad Alf-Inge, viewing a number of properties in the region. Paul Pogba’s recently departed £3m pad is one of them, while Solskjaer’s vacated gaff is another.

The former United boss began building the Cheshire property in 2007 after knocking down an old moat house which stood on the four-acre estate.
