Eden Hazard’s focus is on being fit for Real Madrid when LaLiga Santander resumes.

The Belgian has worked hard on his recovery from ankle surgery during the season’s suspension and is aiming to be involved in the run-in right from the very start.

After all, Real Madrid have the LaLiga Santander title to fight for.

“I feel very good to be back on the pitch working with my teammates,” Hazard himself told Real Madrid TV.

“Now we have to wait for the matches to come, but I’m very happy.

“After two months away, I need more physical work and more ball work.

“I just want to be ready for the next game.”

Real Madrid are now able to train in small groups as LaLiga Santander clubs move to the next phase of their return to training during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Now the training is better, we can train the way we like to,” Hazard said.

“The first week was a bit strange, but now we can train again in groups and also attacking the goal.

“We just want to be all together and try to work as a group”.

Zinedine Zidane and the club are delighted with the commitment Hazard has shown to regaining his fitness in order to be ready for when the season restarts.

The former Chelsea forward is now almost on par with his teammates in terms of his overall physical condition.

It’s a big boost for Los Blancos, who will be looking to their star signing for inspiration during their title race in LaLiga Santander.

Hazard’s season was all but over when he injured his ankle again in February, just a couple of weeks after recovering from his first ankle injury of the campaign.

After having surgery in Dallas in March, the Belgian international has had to do almost all of his recovery work under lockdown in his own home.

As a result, Real Madrid drew up a plan for a physio and a recovery specialist to visit him at home so he could receive pretty much the same help as he would’ve done at Valdebebas.

The results of this plan and Hazard’s hard work are now on show at Valdebebas as he kicks a ball around with his teammates in training.

Now, the 29-year-old will be looking to end a difficult first season in Spain on a high after five months of injury woes.
