How Ex-Barcelona captain persuaded Messi to stay

Former Barcelona captain, Carles Puyol, is quietly confident of Lionel Messi staying.

The Barca captain’s deal expires at the end of this season.

Puyol told RAC1: “I recently spoke with him.

“I can feel it, with envy. It would be very good news for the Catalans if he stayed, I think he is in the best place.

“Afterwards, everyone decides what they want and it will be necessary to understand and respect the decision that they make.”
