Iwobi has been tipped to shine at Everton

Alex Iwobi saw 90 minutes action and has 6/10 rating in the 3-1 Premier League home win for Bournemouth against Everton.

The Nigerian international who has been one of the leading goal scorer for Everton this season with two goals in three appearances for the Goodison Park was not on the scores-hit despite high expectation from the London fans.

Everton would have climbed above Tottenham, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal into third spot with a win on the south coast.

Instead their season is back to square one with a top-six challenge looking some way off unless they can find some consistency.

Marco Silva’s side flattered to deceive and were well beaten in the end of the game that saw Wilson nodded the hosts into the lead from a corner in the 23rd minute only for Dominic Calvert-Lewin to level it up with a header just before the break.

It was Everton’s first away goal in the league this season. But Ryan Fraser’s dangerous ball into the area flicked off Everton’s Fabian Delph in the 67th minute to restore Bournemouth’s lead.

And Wilson exploited some dreadful defending five minutes later to earn Bournemouth their first home win of the season.

Everton, who could have gone third with a win, are now 11th, below Bournemouth on goal difference with both clubs having seven points from five games.
