How Rudiger ex-rayed Chelsea
Antonio Rudiger has given his thoughts on Chelsea’s competition at centre-back and encouraged the collective commitment of all defenders on his team.
The Blues suffered a humbling defeat to 12th placed Newcastle on Saturday. Speaking to the club’s official website, he said: “It was an unfortunate game because we really tried everything but at the end we were sloppy.”
After being out for nearly 3 months due to injury this season, competition for his place upon his return was high.
The 26-year-old, however, suggested that the competition was not unhealthy, but in fact a normal part of football: “There have been a lot of ups and downs but it’s
normal to have competition.”
