I understand Inter Milan fans anger; I still have Moratti’s gold coin, says Balotelli

Adana Demirspor striker, Mario Balotelli, has said he understands if Inter Milan fans are angry with him.

Inter was Balotelli’s first club before he left for Manchester City.

He told DAZN: “If any fan has hated me I can understand it. For the history of the shirt, because I went to Milan… if someone insulted me, not with racist insults, I understand it.

“I would cancel it if I could. I loved the Inter fans. In that match with Barcelona I entered well, I missed a pass and they started booing me. I took it badly, it had never happened. I would have liked to become an Inter flag, I had talked about it with (former president Massimo) Moratti but that was the goal.

“Moratti is unattainable. He had given me a gold coin and then and there I said to myself ‘what is it?’. I didn’t understand, I went to the locker room and showed it to (Marco) Materazzi. He told me that he had given it to Ronaldo, Recoba, Adriano and Ibra. There I understood what it meant and that thing stayed with me forever. He is unattainable, as a person and as everything. I still have that coin today.”

Asked if he would return to Italy, Balotelli said: “It’s difficult. In Italy I think it’s difficult.”

On almost joining Napoli, he added: “Tell (president Aurelio) De Laurentiis, if it weren’t for him I would have been in Napoli for ten years. I am in love with Naples, I would have always played there. My daughter was born there, I told (agent Mino) Raiola that I would have liked to play with them.”
