Head coach of Iceland national football team, Heimir Hallgrimsson has accepted defeat in good faith after the Super Eagles defeated his side 2-0 in Volgograd at the ongoing Russia 2018 World Cup.

Speaking after the match, Hallgrimsson whose side held Argentina to a 1-1 in their opening group game, admitted that Gernot Rohr got his tactics right this time around adding that the Eagles were the better side in yesterday’s game.

Said Hallgrimsson: “Eagles did their transition game very well. I observed that Rohr has changed the way Eagles played because they were the first to the ball.

“We expected Eagles to play with three central defenders which they did but the truth is that it was just not Iceland’s day”

He said their focus now will be chaneled to their last group match against Croatia next Tuesday, a match that he predicted will be very tough considering the tradition of rivalry between the two countries.

“Iceland vs Croatia games are always filled with yellow cards. Three out of our four matches in the past have ended with red cards against Icealnd”
