The tiny European nation announced the news Wednesday on its Twitter handle.
“Friday is the big day. 👀 The day we announce our final squad for the @FIFAWorldCup,” read a post on the Iceland Football Federation official Twitter handle.

The Icelandic squad who topped Group I in the European qualifying round, open their World Cup campaign against Argentina on June 16 before taking on Nigeria six days later in Volgograd. Their last group game is against fellow Europeans Croatia on June 26.

Russia 2018 will be Iceland’s second major international tournament after the 2016 European Championship in France where they got knocked out by the host nation in the quarter final.

Before flying out to Russia, Iceland will tackle the Black Stars of Ghana in a friendly on June 7 in Reykjavik, which has been arranged to get a feel of African football ahead of their Nigeria game.
