Former Super Eagles striker, Jude Odion Ighalo has called on upcoming talents in all walks of life not to give up on their dreams no matter the challenges they face.

The Chinas based forward recounted his experience which he overcame while growing up in Ajegunle a suburb of Lagos in Nigeria that he attributed to hardwork and the help of God.

The player who emerged the highest goal scorer at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations with five goals took to Twitter to share his testimony.

“I was born in a ghetto in Ajegunle with nothing. I work hard to be where I’m today and with the Grace of God. You can do it too don’t give up. Impossible is nothing,” he tweeted. The tweet generated over 4,000 comments,

While he was applauded for the pep talk, a fan saw it as an opportunity to ask the Shanghai Shenhua attacker why he did not go to Barcelona in August.

“Why didn’t you take the barca job when it came…you’ve been rocking their shirt from way back senior man,” the fan asked.

“Bcos (because) I think about my future bro, 6 months loan and 3 years contract which is better? That was why I said few days ago that happiness is a choice but some people didn’t get it, I was smiling then without nothing. Everything in life is possible trust me,” he said.
