Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo was again on target for Chinese club Changchun Yatai as they defeated Beijing Renhe 3-1 on Wednesday in the Chinese Super League.

The Nigerian who was heavily criticised for his performance in Russia during the World Cup bagged a brace for Yatai to take his goals tally to 14 in the current campaign.

Beijing Renhe took the lead through Cameroonian forward Benjamin Moukandjo before their home crowd in the third minute which was however cancelled in the 17th minute by Yatai’s Dadi Zhou to put scores at 1-1.

But eight minutes later, Igahlo put his side ahead and added the third from the penalty spot in the 84th minute to secure the three points for Yatai. Wednesday’s victory leaves Yatai with 24 points from 18 matches this season.

It will be the sixth time that the 30-year-old will be scoring after the World Cup.
