Iheanacho, five others jostle for Leicester City’s Goal of the Month Award

Nigeria’s Kelechi Iheanacho and five others are on the nominations list for Leicester City’s Goal of the Month prize in September.

After Development Squad midfielder Tawanda Maswanhise took home August’s prize for a stunning effort at Blackburn Rovers Under-23s, the Blue Army can once again register their vote for one of six notable goals scored during the past calendar month.

Both strikes in City’s 2-2 draw with Napoli in the UEFA Europa League – netted by Ayoze Pérez and Harvey Barnes – feature on the list, alongside Jamie Vardy’s fine team goal at Brighton & Hove Albion – the Foxes No.9’s 150th competitive goal for the Football Club.

Vardy is nominated again for his first of two efforts against Burnley at King Power Stadium, while Iheanacho’s powerful drive at Millwall in the Carabao Cup completed the first team representation.
