Iheanacho sets Premier League milestone after netting against Chelsea

Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has set a new record in the English Premier League after becoming the first player to score on every day of the week.

The 24-year-old Leicester City goal poacher was in the scoring act again last night as Chelsea defeated the Foxes by 2-1 at the Stamford Bridge.

After a below-the-par show during the FA Cup final where Leicester City defeated Chelsea by 1-0, Brendan Rodgers opted to bench Kelechi Iheanacho as the fight for UEFA Champion League qualification continues.

Chelsea had their breakthrough in the second half of the encounter with goals from Antonio Rudiger and a penalty kick by Italian midfielder Jorginho.

Iheanacho came into the fray in the 60th minute and he made an impact with less than 15 minutes to go after receiving a pass from compatriot Wilfred Ndidi.

Kelechi Iheanacho showed a great composure to put the ball beyond Edouard Mendy in Chelsea goal for his 19th goal of the season.

Thus the former Golden Eaglets star becomes the first player in Premier League history to score a goal on all seven days of the week within a single season.
