IHF Praise HFN For Progressive Handball Growth in Nigeria

Sam Ocheho led board of Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) have received praised from the President of the International Handball Federation (IHF) Mr. Hassan Moustafa for ensuring that handball is alive and vibrant in Nigeria.

Mr. Moustafa expressed his vote of confidence on the board on Thursday during the Webinar joint meeting organized by the IHF for the Presidents and Secretaries of the member federations as part of the IHF Handball Week celebration.

While praising the HFN for promoting the game of handball in Nigeria and seeing the growth recorded since the administration of Sam Ocheho as president, the IHF boss urged the board not to relent with a good job as the world governing body will continue to work hand in hand in Nigeria to aid the continued development of handball.

Mr Samuel Ocheho, who congratulated the IHF President on the celebration of the first International Handball Week, said the Nigeria Handball family is happy to identify with the IHF having earlier in the week commencing the celebration in Nigeria through an all-inclusive Webinar conference that includes the input of the Egypt Handball Federation President Dr. Hesham Nasr, the Angola Handball Federation President Mr. Pedro Godinho and former President of the Handball Federation of Nigeria Dr Lanre Glover which focuses on the development of handball in Nigeria and making it a podium sport.

Ocheho said the HFN will not relent on promoting the game of Handball in the country and will ensure a mutually beneficial relationship with the Confederation of Africa Handball (CAHB) and the IHF.

Other notable president of member federations who were part of the meeting include Mr. Ally from Pakistan, Mr Edison from Zimbabwe, Mr. Andrei Balestki (Belarus), Mr. Adamou Amadou (Niger Republic), Mr Labane (Algeria), Mr. Chalie Choute (Haiti) Mr Charles Amofah from Ghana and Angola’s Pedro Godinho who praised HFN for their good work in Nigeria.
