‘I’m older, wiser’ – Pep jokes at Zinchencko’s ballsy trophy claim

Pep Guardiola has scoffed at Oleksandr Zinchenko’s claim that Manchester City can win the Quadruple this season.

The Blues are in incredible form having win 22 of their last 23 games in all competitions.

With City on course for another Premier League title – their third in four years – they are also already in the League Cup final.

Furthermore, they are also in the last eight of the FA Cup and can secure a place in the Champions League quarter-finals by finishing off Borussia Monchengladbach on Tuesday evening.

With a 2-0 advantage from the first leg, many expect City to secure their progress with ease.

And when asked if City could win all four competitions this season, the confident Ukrainian had no delay in chirping up.

Left-back Zinchenko said: “Of course – Bayern Munich showed it last year, I guess they won everything. Barcelona did it with Pep (Guardiola).

“Of course everything is possible. We have an unbelievable squad, the best players in the world. Definitely, why not?”

Guardiola though quickly knocked down Zinchenko’s suggestion that City can win the quadruple.
