Scholarship Recipients, Nwosu,Otuadinma, to meet IOC President in November

President of the International Olympic Committee, Germany’s Thomas Bach, is billed to touch down in Abuja, Nigeria on 13 November for a two-day visit to commission the ANOCA Headquarters building, which is in Nigeria’s capital city.

Bach, who is former Olympic fencing gold medalist and world champion, will use the opportunity to pay a courtesy visit to His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, visit NOC Partner School – Aduvie International school as well as tour the National Stadium, accompanied by Olympians, National athletes and NOC Partners including three-time Olympian, Chika Chukwumerije, and IOC Scholarship Recipients, former African champion Uzoamaka Otudinma and current African Champion, Chinazum Nwosu.

The visit will also see a discussion take place between the IOC visiting delegation, Nigeria’s Olympians and the ANOCA scholarship holders.

IOC Scholarship was secured for Uzoamaka Otuadinma in 2017 through the Nigeria Olympic Committee working in tandem with the leadership of the Nigeria Taekwondo Federation, while the IOC scholarship for Chinazum Nwosu was cemented after her heroics at the last All African Games in Morocco.

The IOC scholarship is granted to potential athletes that can qualify for the Olympics. The Nigeria Olympic Committee works with various federations to identify potential athletes that qualify for the scholarship.
