Ireland coach names squad for Euro 2024, Chiedozie out

Stephen Kenny has named his 25-man squad for this month’s Euro 2024 qualifiers against Gibraltar and Greece, with Rotherham forward Chiedoze Ogbene one of the biggest omissions due to a hamstring injury.

Peterborough’s Jack Taylor receives his first call-up after an impressive run of form late in the season, as the midfielder impressed in the Posh’s heartbreaking League One play-off semi-final defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.

The squad

Along with Ogbene, captain Seamus Coleman misses out due to injury while Andrew Omobamidele and Cardiff City striker Callum Robinson are also absent due to injury.

Evan Ferguson returns to the squad having bagged his first senior goal during the last international window in a friendly against Latvia.

Everton striker Tom Cannon, who impressed on loan at Preston North End this year, doesn’t make the squad however his North End strike partner – and Spurs loanee – Troy Parrott is included.
