From The 38th European Taekwon-Do Championships, the 29th European Junior Championships and the 1st European Pre-Junior Championships will be held in Lublin, Poland, from 17 to 21 April 2024.
In accordance with the ITF competition rules, new European Champions are being sought in all categories of individual and team pattern and sparring, pre-arranged sparring, special technique breaking and power breaking.
After the closing date of 26 March, a record number of 839 registered athletes from 33 different countries have confirmed their participation. Of these, 383 are seniors (18+) from 31 countries; 314 are juniors (15-17) from 27 countries and 142 are in the pre-junior category (12-14) from 22 countries. This will be the first time that the pre-juniors will be competing at the European Championships following a change in the ITF competition rules.

The majority of the athletes come from Romania, Ireland, Italy and Ukraine. Other young and small ITF countries, such as Andorra and Albania are using the international stage to showcase the skills of their athletes.
The organisers of the 2024 European Championships, the Polish Taekwon-Do Association, are taking this opportunity to celebrate with the entire European Taekwon-Do community the 50th anniversary of the introduction of Taekwon-Do in Poland. At the same time, the All Europe Taekwon-Do Federation (AETF) is celebrating its 45th anniversary.
On the occasion of the continental event and in the days leading up to the European Championships, the ITF Board will hold a two-day meeting and the AETF Congress will take place in the same week.
According to the ITF, this new edition of the European Championships will be an opportunity to share in historic celebrations, witness high-calibre competition and attend important meetings of continental and international federations.
Among the special guests expected in Poland are the Vice President of the European Taekwondo Union, AETF presidents from the past 45 years, as well as the current ITF and AETF Board of Directors and several ITF and AETF Standing Committee Chairs.
