ITTF World Team Championships: Nigeria unbeatable-Bulgaria’s GOLOVANOV

Being the third time they will be playing Nigeria in the last four of the ITTF World Team Championships, Bulgaria’s GOLOVANOV Stanislav has admitted that the skills of the West African side are beyond them.

GOLOVANOV Stanislav who has been part of the three defeats against Nigeria believe they are yet to find the remedy that can demystify the Nigerians.

From 2010 in Moscow, Russia where they were first beaten by the Nigeria, the Bulgarian has always been defeated 3-0 by the West African side and this GOLOVANOV Stanislav said would it would be difficult to nip in the bud.

“I must tell you that we have always foundd it difficult to play against the Nigerians because they are very skillful and for us, we have tried several ways even changing our strategy, it is just too hard for us. There is no doubt that they have top class players like Aruna Quadri but their style of play most times confuses us. I hope we can just find a solution to their dominance in our subsequent meeting,” GOLOVANOV Stanislav said.

The Bulgarian star however, gave up on their ambition of fighting for one of the two places in the championship division saying, “I think we are out of the race for promotion. But we will just have to do now is to make sure we are safe in the second division. That is our major goal for now because we cannot afford to drop to the third division,” he said.
