Kane breaks transfer silence to confirm Tottenham exit plan

Harry Kane has put his desire to leave Tottenham on record following widespread reports the striker has asked to depart the north London club.

It emerged earlier this week the 27-year-old has informed Spurs chiefs he would like to leave this summer.

Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea have enquired about Kane’s availability, although Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is sure to drive a hard bargain for a player reportedly valued at £150million with three years remaining on his contract.

And while Kane insists he is “not rushing anything”, he admits he is facing showdown talks with Levy with his market value only going in one direction.

“I think so,” Kane told Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville’s YouTube show, The Overlap, when asked if he has reached a crossroads in his career.

“I think there is definitely a conversation to be had. For sure it’s a moment where I have to reflect and have a good honest conversation with the chairman.

“I’m not sure how that conversation will go. He might want to sell me. He might be thinking ‘if I can get £100m for you, then why not?’ I’m not going to be worth that for the next two or three years.”

Kane added: “I don’t want to come to the end of my career and have any regrets. I want to be the best I can be.

“I never said I’d stay at Spurs for the rest of my career and I’ve never said I’d leave Spurs. People might say, ‘he’s desperate for trophies, he needs trophies’, but I still feel like I’ve still got almost another career to play.

“I’ve got seven, eight years, kind of what I’ve already had in the Premier League. So I’m not rushing anything, I’m not desperate to do anything.”

Tottenham sit seventh in the Premier League and face an uphill battle to qualify even for next season’s Europa League.
