Kane’s goal against West Brom moves Tottenham to the top

Tottenham moved to the top of the Premier League thanks to Harry Kane’s 88th-minute winner against a resilient West Brom at The Hawthorns.

The England captain glanced his header past Sam Johnstone from Matt Doherty’s floated delivery.

Spurs had struggled to create chances in the match against a stubborn Baggies backline.

The home side went close to scoring when Karlan Grant’s header was brilliantly saved by Hugo Lloris.

Before the game, West Brom announced that defender Branislav Ivanovic and midfielder Matheus Pereira had both tested positive for Covid-19.

Manager Slaven Bilic said the club received the results last week and the pair are under going a period of 10 days in self-isolation.
