Musa who returned back to the dugout after some games into the new season after he was controversially removed in the wake of the Kano Pillars’ implosion in the final of the 2018 Aiteo Cup final has qualified the team for the season ending playoffs with a game to spare.
The coach told SportingLife that he won’t rest any of his regular players ahead of their trip to Umuahia because he wants his players to ready and fired up for what the Super Six will look like and that he will be extremely glad to redeem his name with the league title at the end of the season.
“I am targeting the Super Six title and I don’t want to rest any of my players just yet. We are going to face Abia Warriors with our best players to ensure that we finish the regular season with a statement that we are ready for the Super Six,” Musa told SportingLife.
“It has been a very tough season for us but we have managed to qualify for the Super Six when many never gave us a chance. The 3-0 win over Delta Force is just the simple way of informing our rivals in the Super Six that we are ready for them.
“We still have a game against Abia Warriors before the end of the regular season and we won’t allow them to get the points easily. We are going to go with our best legs because we want to finish the season strongly.”
Kano Pillars are in the second spot in the NPFL Group B with 37 points from 21 games and they along with Akwa United who are on top of the Group with 38 points are already through to the Super Six irrespective of what happens in their games with Abia Warriors and FC IfeanyiUbah on Sunday in Umuahia and Nnewi respectively.
