Klopp: Premier League win among biggest stories in football history

Still basking in the euphoria of season’s victorious outing, Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, has said lifting the Premier League trophy will mark one of the “biggest stories in football history”.

The champions will be presented with the trophy after their match against Chelsea tonight at Anfield and Klopp says it will one of the greatest moments the famous old stadium will have witnessed, even without fans there to appreciate it.

“The moment when we get the trophy is 100 percent what it’s all about in this wonderful sport. It’s one of the big stories in football history,” he said.

“It is truly special and we are lucky to be part of this, so we will savour it and rightly so. It’s just that it is a really big one.

“Not that other championships will be ever forgotten by the supporters, but this one, nobody will ever forget. It’s not possible. That is what makes this so special.”

Klopp argued that any person in football, if they had a choice, would want to lift the title with Liverpool, after a painful, seemingly unending quest for the title.

“If somebody would have had the chance to decide, ‘OK, you can’t become a champion in any country this year and you can decide which team you can do it with – I think you want to have it very special,” he said.

“If you could make it make your choice, the choice would have been Liverpool FC, because it was the one which everybody wants to be part of and we are lucky enough to be part of this.”
