Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo is rejecting thigh surgery after being forced off in Uruguay’s friendly against Iran.
After the diagnosis of Araujo’s thigh muscle tear, the Uruguayan has chosen not to take surgery on it, according to sources close to the player.
The first impressions after the injury were that he might need an operation, which would have stopped him playing at the World Cup with his country.

For now, his intentions are far from that option and he is hoping to arrive in good condition for the tournament.
He had a scan and although he will have to wait to find the exact magnitude of the injury, he will try to avoid going under the knife, says Sport.
