Leeds boss Marsch Predicts flying Start for Aaronson

Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch believes that Brenden Aaronson will hit the ground running amid his arrival from RB Salzburg.

Following their dramatic survival on the final day of the Premier League season, the Whites are on a mission to ensure they progress rather than fall backwards again. They have subsequently got their summer transfer window off to a flying start by snapping up Aaronson.

The midfielder was a long-term target for Leeds and he will link up with fellow American Marsch.

However, the pair also have a connection from Salzburg , where Marsch worked before moving to Elland Road.

The manager has therefore insisted that Aaronson will enjoy a flying start due to his adaptability to tactics.

“Brenden is an incredibly hard worker and we’re pleased to welcome him to the club,” Marsch told Leeds’ official club website.

“He adapts very well to tactical ideas and levels of play and his mentality is to do whatever it takes to help the team succeed.

“I know he will fit in here perfectly with our players and club with this mindset.”

Aaronson, 21, played 41 games this season for and scored six goals while also registering 10 assists.

Overall, he played 65 games for the Austrian club, directly contributing to 13 goals and 15 assists.

Meanwhile, Leeds director of football Victor Orta explained why such a deal for Aaronson is hard to find on the market.

Orta said Leeds feel “really impressed” with the midfielder’s “talent”, “skill set” and the “physical data” collected on him.

“We believe he will improve the squad and we are really happy,” he added. “It is very difficult to find a young player of this level, especially with Champions League experience.
