Leeds pencils down  Sibley for January approach

Leeds United will consider making a swoop to sign Derby County midfielder Louie Sibley, according to a report.

The Yorkshire outfit were in the market for a new midfielder over the summer, however their attempts to sign Conor Gallagher and Lewis O’Brien from Chelsea and Huddersfield Town respectively failed to materialise.

According to The Athletic, Leeds could take advantage of Derby’s current financial predicament as some of their star players, including Sibley, may be available for a much cheaper price.

The report suggests that the Rams may be resigned to losing Sibley in one of the upcoming transfer windows and Leeds could be a potential destination for the 20-year-old.

It is understood that the Whites will look to recruit a midfielder in January, as Marcelo Bielsa is keen to bolster his squad in this department.
