Leicester City desperate to off-load Iheanacho to raise money

English side, Leicester City have intensified their bid to off-load Nigeria forward, Kelechi Iheanacho to raise more money for the cash-strapped team.

The Nigerian international enjoyed his best goalscoring season in 2019-20 but has still found himself subject to plenty of transfer interest.

The latest talk suggests that struggling Turkish side Fenerbahce are prepared to offer Leicester €12m to acquire the forward on loan until his contract expires in the East Midlands in 2022.

Leicester City had been sustaining themselves with loans from Australian bank Macquarie.

The loan is secured against the Premier League payments City will receive up to January 2022.

The club are estimated to receive around £147m in prize money and TV payments for this season and a similar finish in 2020-21 will earn a similar amount, with the Premier League paying out three or four times per year.

In the same vein. Scottish giants Celtic will be bracing themselves for a massive summer transfer bid to come their way in the coming weeks.

Neil Lennon’s side are looking to keep hold of hot-shot forward Odsonne Edouard this summer – but interest in the Frenchman is growing.

The 22-year-old has directly contributed (goals and assists) to 94 Celtic goals in his last 128 appearances and that has not gone unnoticed in the Premier League.

Amongst the interested club are Leicester City with Brendan Rodgers said to be targetting a striker to partner and eventually replace Jamie Vardy at the King Power Stadium.

But the Foxes must first shed some weight before they can prepare a big-money bid for his services, claim reports.

That loan deal, reports claim, would free up the necessary funds to launch a bid in the region on £30m-£40m for Edouard.

West Bromwich Albion, Brighton and Aston Villa are also said to be interested in his services with he forward seemingly destined for the Premier League.

Edouard made his Celtic debut as a Brendan Rodgers player back in 2017 and has, since then, has hit 44 goals in 72 outings.

His current deal at Parkhead will not expire until 2022, allowing Celtic to command such a high price.
