Leicester City legend applauds Iheanacho’s recent performances

Ex-Leicester City star Gerry Taggart says Kelechi Iheanacho is proving his qualities at the club following his recent form for the Foxes.

The Northern Ireland legend also stated further that the Nigeria international is beginning to enjoy playing up front with veteran Jamie Vardy.

Iheanacho scored Leicester City’s equaliser in come back win against Brighton and Hove Albion over the weekend.

The striker collected a delightful pass from Youri Tielemans before chipping the ball over the goalkeeper.

Iheanacho has scored now in each of his last two Premier League appearances, having netted in just one of his previous 17 in the competition.

While speaking on Extra Time, a program designed to review the weekend’s activities on Leicester City’s Twitter handle, Taggart credited Iheanacho for the superb goal and added that he’s enjoying his new role in the attack.

“When called upon, he was in that position to receive that pass and finish it off. That tells me he’s enjoying playing up there with Jamie Vardy.”

“It seemed to me he was confident in that situation. He controlled it from start to finish,” he said.

It would be recalled that Iheanacho was also on target for Leicester City in their 1-1 draw with Burnley last week.
