Lets dig it! Arsenal join Leeds in battle for €30m Noa Lang

Arsenal have joined Leeds United in the race to sign Noa Lang from Club Brugge, according latest reports.

Lang is a 22-year-old winger who represents Netherlands U21s at international level.

He spent last season on loan at Brugge from Eredivisie giants Ajax. He became a hit in Belgium, notching 14 goals in just 24 Jupiler Pro League appearances.

His form convinced Brugge to sign him permanently for a reported £5.4million on July 1.

However, he could soon make a massive next step in his career. According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Arsenal are interested in signing Lang to improve their forward line.

Gunners officials were impressed with his recent display against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. Mauricio Pochettino’s men were held to a 1-1 draw in Group A.

Lang appeared comfortable competing at that level and could become a Premier League player in the summer of 2022.

Brugge reportedly want around €30m (£25.7m) for the player’s services. Arsenal will face plenty of competition to get a deal over the line, as Leicester City and AC Milan are named as interested parties in the report.

Leeds were the first English side to be linked on September 15. Lang’s agent was recently asked about a potential move for his client.

He told HLN (via Sport Witness): “Towards the end [of the transfer window] there was concrete interest from several clubs. As much as he likes to be at Club Brugge, you noticed he was getting more restless, which makes sense.”

The representative also suggested that Brugge may have to lower their asking price for Lang, which would benefit the likes of Arsenal, Leicester and Leeds.
