Like Arnaut Danjuma like Jamal Musiala for Nigeria

Strong indications abound that Nigeria born Villarreal’s winger Arnaut Danjuma  will go the way of Borussia Dortmund ace Jamal Musiala .

Both player are of Nigerian descent and originally eligible to play for Nigeria. But Musiala now plays for Germany and made impressive impact during the Euro 2020 for the German Machines.

He was pondering whether to play for Nigeria, England or Germany being eligible to play for any of the three countries before former Germany coach Jochim Low put in a good word and convinced the lad to settle for Germany.

In the same manner Danjuma is on the verge of settling for the Dutch national team with Netherlands coach Louis Van Gaal revealing that he is in his program and is likely to feature in future world cup qualifiers for the Dutch.

Van Gaa’s submission is an indication that Nigeria perhaps stands only a slim chance of convincing the former Bournemouth star to join the Super Eagles.

Although he has made about 21 appearances for the Dutch at various levels including friendly and Nations league, he still remains eligible to play for Nigeria as per FIFA rules.

Van Gaal reportedly made last minute U-turn about inviting the 24 year old star because he has just joined a new club and needs time to settle but is sure to be invited to the national camp next month

“He has changed clubs, Van Gaal told the media as per Football Oranje.

He did that quite late, and he didn’t play in the first phase either. He generally fell in. He’s been doing great in the last four games and can be there, but I haven’t decided on that.

“I can’t imagine he won’t be there next time, the former Barcelona manager added. Nigeria born players plying their trade with other nations are legion.
