Liverpool icon outlines Wilfred Ndidi’s top qualities after Arsenal show
Ex-Liverpool player Jamie Redknapp has described Super Eagles defensive midfielder Wilfred Ndidi as an exceptional player following his performance against Arsenal in the Premier League over the weekend.
The Nigeria international was in good form on Saturday when he put up a man-of-the-match display in the middle of the park as Foxes saw off Gunners 2-0 at King Power Stadium.
At the last count, the 22-year-old completed the most tackles (7) in the encounter, managed a 100 percent passing accuracy in the final third and also made key interceptions (3) and successful take-on (3).
A performance that left Redknapp struggling to find the best words to outline the qualities of the Eagles midfielder.
“He does a great job. He’s the sort of player that I think Arsenal have been crying out for years,” said, Redknapp.
“He’s 22 years of age, got great pace, good energy, can pass the ball.
“I think about the game earlier in the season when he gave the ball away against Chelsea and I thought ‘I wonder how he’ll react’. He ended up scoring a goal after it.

Ndidi is expected to play a huge role for the Super Eagles against Benin and Lesotho on Tuesday and Sunday respectively for the 2021 AFCON qualifiers.
