Liverpool join race to sign quickly-improving €30m star

Liverpool are the latest side to be linked with a summer move for Hellas Verona defender Marash Kumbulla.

The Albania centre-back has emerged as one of the finest young players in Serie A this season, having only made his senior debut at the start of the campaign.

And, according to reports in Italy, there are understood to be a number of big European clubs tracking his progress.

Manchester United are understood to have stepped up their interest in signing Kumbulla last month.

Serie A trio Atalanta, Inter Milan and Napoli are all also believed to be in the hunt for the 20-year-old as well as Bundesliga outfit Red Bull Leipzig and Everton.

Leipzig are understood to have tabled a January offer of around £13m for Kumbulla; the Peschiera del Garda-born defender though stayed put.

Now TuttoNapoli say Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund are tracking the player, whom Man City and Man Utd have been following ‘for months’.

The price tag for the player though is going up by the day with the source claiming Kumbulla is now valued at around €30m.
