Liverpool make enquiry for £34m Karim Adeyemi

Salzburg teenager Karim Adeyemi looks good to  leave the club next summer, with Liverpool among the clubs enquiring over a potential £34million deal.

Liverpool have been following the striker’s progress for some time, and invited him for a trial as a 15-year-old from German club SpVgg Unterhaching before he moved to Salzburg.

The now 19-year-old broke into the Salzburg side last season, notching seven goals and nine assists in the Bundesliga, and already has ten goals in 12 games this campaign, including a brace against Lille in the Champions League.

That form has led Liverpool to revive their interest according to reports and Sky Germany now claim the striker will ‘definitely’ leave Salzburg in 2022, for a fee between £25million and £34million.

Although Liverpool are credited with a recent enquiry, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig have reportedly already held talks with Adeyemi’s representatives.

The report continues that the teenager’s ‘career plan’ includes time in Germany ‘before he might go abroad again’.

A move to Germany from Austria would come as no surprise, with Erling Haaland swapping Salzburg for Dortmund in 2020 and the likes of Naby Keita, Dominik Szoboszlai, Hwang Hee-chan and Dayot Upamecano all switching to Leipzig from the Austrian side in recent years.

Adeyemi who scored on his senior debut for Germany last month – will likely opt for a move to the Bundesliga before a potential switch to the Premier League.

But Liverpool will be in the mix as they look to rejuvenate their squad with young talent.
