Liverpool must beat deadline to close deal for Schalke defender

Liverpool can’t hang about if they wish to sign permanently Schalke defender Ozan Kabak.

Liverpool are leaning towards making Kabak’s loan move from Schalke a permanent one this summer, says Fussball Transfers.

The Reds ‘would have to activate’ the €20m clause by the end of May at the latest – in other words, there’s a deadline for them to meet.

It appears as if they may do so, though, with the ‘inclination’ at the club currently leaning towards making him a permanent member of the squad.

For their part, Schalke are determined to sell Kabak this summer, even if Liverpool fail to trigger his option.
