Liverpool must cough up extra in bonuses to sign Konate

Liverpool face having to cough up extra in bonuses to sign RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate.

The Telegraph says Konate’s buyout clause at RB Leipzig is higher than first thought and it could cost £40million to take him to Liverpool this summer.

The package to trigger a move can rise beyond the figure initially thought enough to secure him.

The reports goes on to claim that Konate is Liverpool’s first choice target to support Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip when they return from injury next season.

In Germany it’s reported Liverpool are now in talks to sign the defender.
