Liverpool not entering into any fresh agreement with Salah

Liverpool hope to find a contract breakthrough with Mohamed Salah by the end of the year.

According to The Sunday World, it has emerged that Liverpool and Salah’s camp are mot close to finalising a new deal.

Yet even though the club have made it clear they won’t break the bank to keep the Egyptian, all parties are keen to work towards an agreement.

After successfully agreeing on new contracts with captain Jordan Henderson, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Fabinho ahead of the new season, Salah remains has yet to commit his future to the club.

While reports suggesting Salah and his adviser Ramy Abbas rejected Liverpool’s contract offer are wide of the mark, Liverpool have a salary ceiling they will not break in their push to keep their star man.

Van Dijk is believed to be Liverpool’s top earner at £220,000-a-week, with Salah expected to demand close to £300,000-a-week to extend his current deal that is due to expire in the summer of 2023.
