Liverpool set to launch move for Marcelo Brozovic

Liverpool have been tipped to raid Inter Milan for Marcelo Brozovic after ‘closely following’ his situation in recent weeks, though Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are also in pursuit.

Liverpool are looking light in central midfield following injuries to Thiago, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Curtis Jones. Jurgen Klopp still has the likes of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Naby Keita in his squad but the Reds may need reinforcements if they are to succeed in several competitions.

Liverpool are reportedly keeping tabs on Sporting Lisbon star Matheus Nunes and Nicolo Barella of Inter.

But rumours of interest in Barella’s team-mate at the San Siro, Brozovic, continue to grow as well.

And Liverpool World have now come in with an update, while citing reports from Spain. They claim the Premier League giants are ‘closely following’ Brozovic’s situation ahead of making a possible move.

The report states Liverpool are set to table an offer for the Croatian enforcer ‘soon’. This could see Brozovic move to Anfield as there are still several weeks of the transfer window left.

Brozovic only penned a new long-term deal with Inter in March. It lasts until June 2026.

However, this has not put off Liverpool off and they are willing to spend big to bring the 29-year-old to the Premier League.

The Reds will face competition from two of Europe’s biggest teams to secure Brozovic’s signature. The report puts Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain on his trail too.

It would be great to see Brozovic play in England. He has only ever featured in his native Croatia and Serie A so far in his career.

The 74-cap international has won several trophies, including the Serie A title and a Coppa Italia. But he could be tempted by the lure of Liverpool or United. PSG cannot be ruled out either due to the massive wages they can hand Brozovic.
