Liverpool set to offload Awoniyi, Ojo, eight others in huge transfer shake-up

Former Golden Eaglets forward, Taiwo Awoniyi, Sheyi Ojo, and eight other players have been penciled down for off-loading this summer as Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp trims his squad.

With football clubs across Europe seeing finances impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, many players will be fearing for their futures.

According to Goal’s reports, Liverpool are prepared to shunt ten players out of the Anfield exit door.

Top of the list will be flop goalkeeper Loris Karius and Ojo, Ben Woodburn, Awoniyi, Kamil Grabara and Nat Phillips could all leave the club this summer.

Awoniyi joined the Reds in 2015, but has never secured a work permit to play for the club.

Five years, as many loan clubs, and plenty of youth international experience have definitely seen him develop, but he isn’t of the standard to challenge for a place in Liverpool’s side and hasn’t been able to play a single game due to his ineligibility issues.

Adam Lewis has already joined Amiens on loan, with Morgan Boyes linking up with Fleetwood and Joey Barton.

The 27-year-old stopper is back at the club after his loan spell with Besiktas ended, but with Alisson unmoveable between the sticks, the German will be sold.

Harry Wilson is another who is set to leave, either on loan or permanently.

The 23-year-old showed flashes of his talent during a loan spell at Bournemouth last season.

Sheyi Ojo could finally be cast loose, last featuring in a competitive game for the Reds in 2017.

Jurgen Klopp’s first-ever signing Marko Grujic is likely to be sold, as is left-back Yasser Larouci.

Rhian Brewster enjoyed a successful loan at Swansea last season, and the Reds could well look to loan the 20-year-old out again, to a Premier rival.
