Luka Modric not for sale declares Real Madrid

Amidst rumours that Croatia international and Real Madrid forward Luka Modric might be heading to Saudi Arabia, the La Liga giants have come out rubbish the story insisting that their man is heading no where

The fact that his current contract with Real Madrid will expire on June 30, 2024, and there are no talks yet concerning his contract extension, has made the speculations that Real Madrid would sell him in January to avoid losing him for free in the summer to grow stronger.

However, Real Madrid Chief Executive Officer, José Ángel Sánchez has insisted that the Spanish giants are not planning to sell the midfielder in January.

“Modrić to Saudi in January? There are no negotiations on the part of Saudi League officials to include Luka in January”, Sánchez told Goal.

“We have no plans about his departure from the team at present”.

Luka Modric joined Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur on August 27, 2012, for a transfer fee worth €35 million. Since then, he has been one of the most prominent members of the club.
