Madueke dreams big for Chelsea

Noni Madueke reckons things are starting to click for Chelsea following back-to-back wins against tough opponents Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United..

The Blues are targeting a position no lower than sixth in the Premier League and securing this spot could lead to Europa League qualification, provided Manchester United lose to local rivals Manchester City in the Emirates FA Cup final.

Madueke has played an important role in Chelsea’s push for Europe, registering five goal involvements in his last six appearances in the Premier League.

The England U21 international of Nigerian descent scored and assisted in games against Aston Villa and West Ham United, and was on target in a 2-2 draw with Sheffield United.

Madueke feels that the team is finally starting to gel under Mauricio Pochettino’s leadership following months of dedicated effort.

“Two clean sheets and seven goals against tough opponents – one is above us in the table and one right next to us. So I think it’s credit to the boys, credit to the staff and credit to the whole club,” Madueke said to Chelsea’s official webpage.

“It’s starting to click and come together, but it really just comes from working hard for each other and letting our talent sprout from there.

“That’s what we’ve been trying to put together for a while now and it’s starting to click, so we just have to stay with our feet on the ground and try to win these last three games to finish as high as possible.”

Chelsea’s remaining fixtures see them face Nottingham Forest and Brighton & Hove away, before concluding the season against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.
