Man accused of injuring Rangers star Jermain Defoe in crash
A man is to stand trial accused of injuring Rangers star Jermain Defoe in a car crash.
James Turner, 24, is said to have driven dangerously in Balshagray Avenue, Glasgow, last September.
Prosecutors claim Turner’s BMW M4 crossed a central reservation and collided with two vehicles on the opposing carriageway.
It is alleged the Peugeot 308 and Land Rover Sport then collided with a Mercedes-Benz A 200.
The incident allegedly “caused damage to said vehicles and injury to Jermain Defoe and Nicole Leonard”.
Defoe, 37, was in action that day having scored in a 5-0 win at Ibrox against Aberdeen.
