Man City not relenting on the quest for  Barcelona skipper Messi

Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi, remains unsettled at the Nou Camp, despite the resignation of president Josep Maria Bartomeu as Manchester City intensified bid to hire him.

It was suggested Bartomeu stepping down would be enough for Messi to drop plans to leaving Barca and instead commit to a new deal.

However, El Chiringuito’s Jose Alvarez reports Messi remains tempted by the prospect of joining former Barca coach Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

“Messi has not closed the doors to Manchester City,” declared Alvarez.

Off contract in June, Messi could sign a pre-contract with City from January 1 ahead of joining them for nothing in June.
