Man Utd announce latest game for United States pre-season tour

Manchester United have announced another friendly for their pre-season tour of the USA, pencilling in a match against Real Betis.

Erik ten Hag’s charges will face the Spanish side at the Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego on July 31. They met Wrexham at the same venue during last year’s tour, when Paul Mullin punctured his lung during a clash with United goalkeeper Nathan Bishop.

United had a hugely successful tour of the US last year and are heading back this summer as part of their preparations for the 2024-25 season. The Red Devils will meet Arsenal at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on July 27 before taking on Liverpool at the Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia on August 3.

United goalkeeper Andre Onana said: “I flew out to the US to meet up with the team when I joined the club last summer. I also made my debut for United whilst in America. It has some of the biggest and best sports stadiums in the world and I am very much looking forward to returning again this year to play against top quality opponents, and to meet more of our US supporters.”

Snapdragon will be United’s shirt sponsor next season after the club clinched a world-record deal with the tech firm reportedly worth £60m ($76m) per year.

After getting back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Everton in the Premier League last week, United face Liverpool in an FA Cup quarter-final tie on Sunday.
